You thought Malaysian politics were underhand...

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/election2010/2941044/Lib-Dem-Nick-Cleggs-TV-debate-strategy-is-found-in-back-of-a-cab.html

In UK general elections for a new government are underway. All three of the main leaders from Labour, Conservatives and Lib Dem took part in a live TV debate recently.

Amazingly secret transcripts of strategy used by the winner of the night (Nick Clegg) have been found in the back of a black cab.

Makes for intriguing reading though :)

Doris Vinci

I was the emcee at this event at Pavilion showcasing their newest collections yesterday (Tuesday 20TH April). Was wearing one diamond encrusted chain that was worth over 50,000rm. Felt like running off but the Lebanese restaurant owners where the event was taking place looked a bit scary. Only have one pic to show of some of the models at the event. More pics to follow...:)

Comedy Club :)

For those of you that may be living in Penang or are in that neck of the woods this week. Comedy Club is bringing the talents of 4 brilliant comedians down to you. Among them are Harith Iskander who i'm sure most of you have heard off and Kavin Jayaram who I recently saw in the last Comedy Club in Zouk.

Comedy as relatively knew in Malaysia so please support when they are back down in KL. 15rm only ma...cheap cheap :)

Also in the pipeline are more crossovers between the Comedy Club and Unseen TV. We have already featured a couple of their nights on our site. You can also check Bo out on there @ http://my.unseentv.tv/malaysia/events/time-out-stand-comedy

I am irreversibly linked with Sade...true fact

In another irrelevant post before I really start beefing up this site with content. The headline is actually true. If you've not heard of Sade then perhaps thats because i'm an 80's baby and old enough to still have watched the A-team before they started doing re-runs. But if you have - its all very true.

Sade went to my high school in Clacton and her mum was my mums midwife which is probably my biggest claim to fame. I don't think that anything I do from this point on in entertainment can ever gross this achievement of being born to the "Smooth Operator" song. For now I will knowingly persuade myself that it was playing at the time of my birth. Other famous people to originate from my town are the lead singer from the band Interpol, Ian Westlake (footballer for Ipswich Town and Leeds Utd) and the guy who made the song Pretty green eyes. A dance song from the early 2000's which was kinda a big deal for a while. Blur used to perform in my town way back. But now unfortunately my old town is dominated by drunks, old people (percentage ratio is actually 60% over the age of 60) and druggies. Quite a quaint town in the summer mind you (no really) because thats when the locals leave to go on holiday somewhere else. Reminds me a bit of Johor without the bus ride to Singapore bit....

Christopher Lawrence

Interviewed Christopher Lawrence on Saturday. Id never heard of him before but he's quite a big name in trance scene. And a nice humble guy. Always refreshing.

You can listen to his music @ http://www.myspace.com/djchristopherlawrence

Why a blog all of a sudden and lots of other questions....

Well i'm hoping this post will solve a lot of questions. I've seen and done some amazing things but to my closest of friends that know me best - It makes me warm inside to know that everyone important to me is still in my life. If anything i've developed and grown out here and I thank Malaysia for giving me the opportunity to do that. When I left my hometown 9 years ago. I began a journey that would lead me to North London then Norway stopping off all around Europe and Africa before finally landing in Malaysia at the start of 2006.

When I left my hometown. I knew I'd be gone a long time. I said to my friends it would be like this until I achieve something no matter how long it would take or how poor I became. I would just keep going. It was always my intention to be a host but at the time it was the fame part that drove me. UK is a country where celebrity is big. So after moving to Nilai (more on this some other time). I got scouted in Bangsar and joined 8tv's What women want. The show was a great success and after winning Cleo Bachelor...the sky really was the limit. But I couldn't handle it. Im not scared to say I went off the rails big time. I probably upset a lot of people and caused unnecessary dramas. To these people I apologise.

I decided I need to escape the world so like a monk I spent virtually two years in the wilderness growing up. Just detached myself from everything. I needed to grow up and I spent a lot of time ancient philosophy and composing poetry. Figuring what is really behind our existance on earth. I needed a deeper understanding of everything. And other stuff I probably shouldn't go into. ;)

I went back into teaching last year again at LIM KOK WING and whilst I enjoyed the teaching aspect. The urge to get back into entertainment was too great and after a short acting stint at Klpac...it gave me the confidence to really give things a shot again.

I love what I do at Unseen Tv because I love the freedom it gives me. It's great to be working outside of the mainstream and growing in confidence with creating a persona on stage. Hosting for me is just the first step. I have grand plans of acting in Hong Kong and releasing a Jazz album. But always give back what u reap and it will be doubled ten times over.

The most important part of what i'm saying is that to achieve anything in life requires luck but determination and discipline to make full use of it. I believe that talent always rises to the top.

Life is what you make of it. I have no time for shallowness or greed. And I thank God, my family and closest friends for helping me grow into the man I am today.

Anyways no more emo stuff. Thats my piece over. From now on its all about making this blog the biggest it can be in Malaysia. Apart from Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad's blog who i respect greatly. I don't see any competition. Delusional maybe. :)

Have a great Saturday and Sunday guys!

Web hosting, Blogsites and da POlice....

So I currently have two websites.

http://christiannealcapes.co.cc -

and

http://anenglishmaninkl.blogspot.com/

Seen Fugs (my superstar cameraman ) blog and he has linked his blog with his work in one central place. Still for me out of the game and learning all of this again is most time consuming.

So i'm posting below some useful website links should you be in the same position as me starting a new blog or website. :)

When I was at school and studying computer science. I used to dabble around in HTML which i'm glad is still being used today 10 years on. Now back then I became so addicted to it that I created a rather controversal site which garnered the local police in my hometown of Clacton-on-sea as I had poked fun at a few teachers and pupils. (As im writing this it should be a sign not too do the same thing here with celebrities but my site before did garner a lot of hits) - i'd be a little more worried of legal action here. Its all sue - counter sue - sue some more - then some here. Anyway my little website which I believe is still lurking on the net somewhere led to me being questioned by the police. How I ever kept that a secret from my parents i'll never know. In the end I got an E in the Computer Science subject.

Heres the links guys:

The Dark arts of PR

After working for a prominent PR company in Malaysia...I have borne witness to some pretty underhand PR tactics which somehow are very legal but still sneaky as hell.

Read a recent post on soccernet where John Terry has spoken out.

"John Terry has clearly learned a thing or two about the dark arts of PR following a torrid season in the tabloid spotlight. At the weekend, and after both Manchester United and Arsenal had been eliminated from the Champions League, the England defender was quick to put a positive spin on the failure of any of the country's clubs to make it to the semi-finals of the competition. The final at the Bernabeu will take place on May 22 but England's provisional squad will assemble a full five days before, meaning Fabio Capello now has precious, uninterrupted time with all of his players - a luxury that will not be enjoyed by a number of his rivals. Terry told the Sun: "We can take a very strong positive out of the fact no English clubs have made it through this season. Had one of our teams got to the final the squad would have had some very notable absentees for what is a big phase of our preparation. Now we will all be together and can get some good solid grounding in as a whole. I'm sure from that perspective Mr Capello is happy."

Im English and proud. Just like many Malaysians i'm hoping the England football team win the world Cup with a fit Rooney leading the line.

Just no more controversies. Leave that for me....

Whitney Houston

There was much controversy when Whitney appeared in KL but it didn't make international headlines. Seems like shes really hit the rails. A sad tale to break today.

To be cold or to be hot that is the question....

I think its a cultural thing but i've noticed out here that a lot of Malaysian's hate eating their food cold. Whenever I suggest that im not going to microwave my food. They look in astonishment at me with this dirty cringe that makes me feel like i'm trying to sell them some girls from Chow Kit. But why is that? Is it because people here are scared that the bacteria in the food has grown to such an extent that it will implode in their faces the moment it touches their mouth? Or is it because scientifically its better to eat food hot? Well whatever it is...I have cold "Canadian Pizza" on the go with some coke whilst i'm working. And I love it :)

All very techie for now...

Well before the fun starts...

I have been messing around using new templates and codes to create this blog. For those of you who are new to blogging. Please ask me. I'm becoming quite the web geek with stuff. I'm using a Toshiba laptop. If anyone else and needs to screen capture something. Ive been having problems with the prt sc button. Instead press

Stay tuned

So as this is a pretty much completely new blog. Please stay tuned for lots of updates. Feel free to link your blogs up to mine. Will be posting pics and videos up on here. Mr Gurang (Kenny Sia) im coming for you.

I was never the best copywriter so best just read this first...

What a boring title. Well I've been reading up on my daily trash of UK news brought to me by The Sun and The Times. But alas football is on my mind right now. Would be great if Ferguson would buy Joe Hart for Man U but i doubt City would allow it. As for Benzema. I think Dzeko is a better bet to sign. Reminds me of a younger Shevchenko.

Im checking out http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/features/2929426/Top-10-YouTube-videos-ever.html?offset=2 which is a compilation of the top YouTube videos around.

Watching Susan Boyle perform and the way the crowd changed from being hecklers to becoming in awe of her presence always brings a lump to my throat. As a kid I was never one of the most popular kids at school and you know your peers can always be somewhat mean at that age. I was lucky to have a family that believed in me even when the times were tough. Lately my dearest cousin in UK has been experiencing the same thing at school. Shes got an absolute heart of gold this girl. And if theres anyone I miss the most from my travels in Asia it is her. I came out on the front cover on my local newspaper the other week but no one believed her that I was her cousin. I promised I would give a speech at her school when I come back later this year to silence the doubters.

But what I'm trying to get at is this. People are always very quick to judge. You wanna know something. I'm Bangsar boys relative ( http://www.nikicheong.com/blog ) You can call me Brickfields boy.

On a serious note though. Little is known about Autism though and it's not something that can be cured. Indeed I consider myself to be a mix of being Bi-polar and dylexsic but for reasons unknown maybe i'm just abnormal.

So instead of fitting in and being worried about social etiquette. Embrace your differences and break out from the mould.

Rather like Joe Hart should do by signing for Man U. :)

This is the first blog post. After a busy week. I have nearly completed my website and putting the finishing touches to other things. I'm hoping astro is installed in my friends place for the football tonight. Whilst a devout Man utd fan I hope that Arsenal overcome Barcelona. Hopefully the action will not peter out after the first half. Excited. Feel tingles. Rather like a message I have recieved from a special someone asking if I like fire. I answered yes I do every morning with my breakfast. Feel the tingles already. Enjoy my future posts on this site. Feels naked right now without anyone reading. :)
